According to unofficial sources, AMD in coming years prepare for an interesting solution for notebooks. On the pages of Expreview recently was published AMD company roadmap where AMD this year, as part of mobile platform Tigris, plan to integrate 45-nanometer CPU named Caspian.
Processor will possess two cores and an integrated DDR2 memory controller, while chipset AMD RS880M + SB710 have integrated DirectX 10.1 graphics core, UVD 2, DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort outputs and support for 12 USB and 6 SATA connectors. For graphics is responsible M9x; the next generation of graphic chips which provide support for DirectX 10.1.
As plan for the next year will be evolution of 4 cores processor Champlain (platform Danube), also built in 45 nm, but with support for DDR3 memory (1.066 MHz). Chipset remains the same, maybe with new southbridge SB8xxM, and new generations of mobile graphics chips called Manhattan.
Real news comes in 2011 in the form of platforms and processors Sabine Llano. Llano should own 4 cores and DDR3 memory controller (1600 MHz) as well as integrated graphics compatible with DirectX 11 API and UVD 3 for decoding video. Chipset lines SB9xxM also provides support for modern technologies, such as a USB 3.0.
