Corsair introduced new SSD S256, successor of model S128. Except twice larger capacity of its predecessor, a new model is considerably faster (more then twice).
They still use Samsung MLC NAND flash memory, but the advanced controller and 64 MB cache are responsible for the benefits that the new model brings. According to preliminary tests SSD speed for record data is 169 MB / s, reading of 209 MB / s. The tower of the disk is made of aluminum and used 3-gigabit SATA interface.
On the American market S256 will arrive soon, the price was not released, but it is speculated that it could be somewhere around $ 750.
