In the beginning of the April Intel introduced redesagned logos for the label of its processors and also a new way of marking performance.
New design of the logo is in the form of the rectangle, which in the upper right corner has a picture of the silicon chip, while thru the full-length is printed name of the processor and an obligatory word “inside”.
For performance marking, Intel to its customers offer extremely streamlined selection of future computer ranking - according to the number of star. Five stars is related to the Core i7, and more powerful Core 2 Quad chips, four star for the Core 2 Q93xx and E8xxx lines and so on until the Celeron 4xx, E1xxx who wears one star for performance.
New logos and performance will be the same for processors of laptops, and soon is planned to use the same label and a new design for the Xeon server processors, based on the Nehalem architecture. [via]
