atom-processorThe first generation of Atom processor was introduced a year ago. One year after presenting the first-generation of Atom processor, Intel on the IDF in Beijing has officially announced two new models for MID devices. These are Atom processors Z515 and Z550 which has already been speaking.

Atom Z515 runs on 1.2 GHz on Intel Technology Burst Performance Technology to effectively adjust clock depending on load and greater energy saving.

Atom Z550 is the fastest chip in this line with the 2 GHz. Both processors have a TDP less than 3 W (2.4 W under load, and 0.22 W with no load), and owns 512 KB L2 cache and 533-MHz FSB.

Intel on the IDF speaks about the next generation Atom named Moorestown. This platform is expected in the market over the next year. This is primarily Lincroft SOC solution with integrated 45-NANOMETER Atom core, graphics and memory controller.

Processor will assist in the work of chipset named Langwell and Intel in the whole story for the operating system sees its own Moblin Linux distribution, tailored MID platform and netbook PCs.
