Japanese Sharp for the end of May preparing interesting netbook line Mebius. Hardware itself has been a classic combination of Atom N270/945GSE, one or two gigabytes of memory and 160-GB SATA disk.
Diagonal screen is 10.1 inch (WSVGA) and there are standard options of connecting wire, wireless network (including Bluetooth 2.1), a memory card reader and webcam. With the computer is delivered Vista Home Basic, while the battery lasts about 3 hours.
What distinguishes this computer from the other - touchpad. Instead of the classic and typically device for navigation, Mebius possesses diagonal LCD screen as much as 4 inches (854 x 480 pixels) with sensitivity to touch registered by optical sensors. This implementation besides Navigation fingers enables use methods of input such as stylus. Usage can be truly different – from simple navigation through drawing and manipulating with photos to playing simple games.
You can buy this innovated netbook for now - only in Japan. The price is about $816.
