Splashtop platform, for immediately activating computer to access the basic functions, in the near future will be build in Sony’s laptops from the VAIO N series and Acer’s nettops from series AspireRevo.
Splashtop can be defined as “light” version of Linux, which in just a few seconds after starting the computer provides access to the Internet, email, IM programs, text editor, and other basic functions. Of course, after restarting the computer still has access to a “real” operating system (with the normal time of booting).
Sony’s VAIO NW on the American market came to the end of the month, and the exact time of launch Acer’s nettop AspireRevo is not known.
